San Isidro (Gila Mission) is a small rural Catholic Church dedicated to Saint Isidore the farmer. It was founded in the late 1800’s in the community of Gila, NM. As an outstation of St. Vincent de Paul Parish, all ministries and businesses, including the Catholic Cemetery in Gila, are conducted through St. Vincent de Paul Church office in Silver City, NM where Father Oliver Obele is currently the Pastor.
The small church is located 28 miles north of Silver City, in the rural community of Gila, serving the surrounding area. The beautifully restored church reflects the traditions and culture of Southwestern New Mexico’s rich history of faith. Please join us to celebrate Holy Mass surrounded by the quiet beauty of the countryside. We look forward to seeing you.
